BUTTING – Pipes made from coil

The continuous and fully automatic production process is the most advanced and most economic way of producing longitudinally welded pipes and profiles. This process consists of on-line (cold) forming, welding, calibration and non-destructive testing, i. e. all these operations are carried out on-line.

BUTTING produces longitudinally welded pipes on several production lines (in a continuous process) in OD's from 18 up to 762 mm and wall thicknesses of up to 16 mm, in random lengths of either 6 m or 12 m. Any length can be produced up to 18 m without circumferential weld. The weld procedures used are TIG, plasma, a combination of TIG and plasma or laser.

In case of urgent requirements, our customers take advantage of our well kept stock of standard pipes. We stock pipes in more than 140 different dimensions, from NB 15 up to NB 800 according to DIN, ISO and ASTM standards and in 15 different material grades.

Special productions of non-standard sizes, pipes in special alloys or according to tight tolerances are of course also possible.
